Burned Out Again...

Hmmm played a heck of a lot of poker this weekend (about 5 MTTs each day) and got ITM on about 4 of them. No big wins and some heartbreaking beats were the climax of the day. I have read through blogs and stuff and have seen that in order to play pro poker for a living you gotta have a bread and butter format. The MTTs are just a big bonus...

However, for my case the MTTs ARE my bread and butter. I attribute 95% of my total profits to them. The only problem is they take too looooong. Its like playing a computer game where you couldn't save your game. You play smart, keep your health bar up and a small misclick kills your character steps away from the Big Boss.....

So all those time wasted... spent without anything to show for it. I guess this is one of the key reasons for my burnout. The big wins more then make up for it though and the anticipation of winning my next big MTT is what drives me to keep playing.

I got a pretty good bankroll remaining with locked profits that should be enough for 6 months of reckless partying hehehe. I will hit a few MTTs here and there and try my hand at 4 tabling ring games at PokerStars (I don't like their MTTs too much). I have also learned quite a few things while reading and playing and I will share them sometime this week.

hehehe I hear yah bro. Been finishing in the teens lately and the big money is all on the final table. 13th till 19th just doesnt cut it.... and it's a bit tiring to think it takes 4-5 hours to get this far.

One of the main reasons I can't wait to play the big MTTs back home. Less then 120 people? Woot far cry from the 800+ am used to seeing

Well that's the problem with MTT's, you play well for 3 1/2 hours then one suckout or mistake later you're struggling for your life...

Frog, yeah less people to play against the live tourney's here but then again less money also... Unless you place 1st to 3rd you're probably better off playing rings...

Oh and one other thing, entry fee's for local tourney's are usually 20% kinda steep...

haha that's usually the case naman. We were talnking to some guys from this big casino hotel in the US when we were having our first 5K+1K game here last december, and they said that in their casino, they have a weekly (or daily?) $100+20 MTT. AND, this is the ONLY casino where poker players are comped for drinks and food! hehe. even the WSOP players who paid 10K had to BUY their food. hehe.

The "rake" or entry fee's here are totally steep. If you think about it. You can play a tourney online and only pay about half the entry fee. However, there is this place up north that have been consistent with the rake (entry fee)... 100 pesos.

Anytime BoldMove. Well I started playing when the first PPT came up. Lost that on the bubble and it just kinda drove me to play more. Small games here and there afterwards.

When I came to the US for a 3 month assignment I got hooked on online poker. To win in poker you got to be educated so a combination of the help of the other bloggers, poker books and experience made me better in poker.

Still looking to improve like everyone else.

By the way guys, check out Bold.Move's blog. Gotta love the female poker players! Makes the game more interesting and they can beat our pants off easy!

bwisit nga talaga MTT LOL just went through a similar experience as Erick. Finished 56 out of 1126 and only got $59 for my 3.5hour effort... NLHE can really be cruel, was among the chip leaders most of the time then two hands later (run into KK twice in a row) *poof* out of the tourney...

Bold Move, in the long run buying those books will turn out to be profitable for you... But if you can get it for free so much the better hehe...

Aside from experience and knowledge, I strongly believe that being true to yourself is the key to becoming successful in this game.

There is a HUGE gap between the people that take it seriously and the people that play for recreational purposes... :)

That's what my conscience tells me, coz I'm a honest guy...

mwahahaha

???

I need a beer...
